Slow day on the Blue
Headed up to the Blue River with Mark for the day after hearing the fishing was still pretty good. We end up having a beautiful sunny day in the upper 30's with the flows around 100cfs and gin clear. We start at the cemetery with the water to ourselves but neither of us even see a fish, much less catch one. We decide to head to town and try a stretch I have fished before. By this time I have tied on a red amy's ant with a trailing midge hoping to get a dry fly bite. I work upstream a ways and finally get three small fish to take the amy's ant. Meanwhile Mark has not had any luck so we decide to call it a day and head home. Slow day of fishing, but still a great day in the mountains!
