One fish day on the Arkansas River
My buddy Mark and I decided to head down to the Arkansas River, as we had not fished it in a while. We were hoping that being down south a little that the fishing would be a little better. We stop into the local fly shop to get some info and flies before we start. The advice we got was to try nymphing with any number of different flies and to only try dry flies if we saw fish feeding.
We start the day around Texas Creek and Mark ties on a triple rig of some of the flies he bought. I on the other hand disregard all the advice and tie on a bwo to start the day. Unfortunately it did not matter because neither of us had any luck and could not figure out what they would hit.
We try a couple spots down canyon but the fishing remained tough. Sadly over the coarse of the day Mark only caught a couple and I managed just a single fish for the second straight day of fishing. Once again despite the tough fishing we had a great day on the water and enjoyed another beautiful day in Colorado.
