Cache La Poudre River
Headed up to the Poudre River with Mark today after seeing the flows were around 375cfs, down from the 600cfs we fished it at a few weeks ago. We start at the islands and work our way up. The far side of the island was all whitewater so we end up fishing both sides of the near side of the island. For the first time in forever I catch the first fish of the day here with Mark coming in a close second. Within the first hour of fishing Mark has picked up 15 and I have got 21 to hand. This may be the best first hour we have ever had! We try two different spots over the coarse of the next few hours, picking up fish at each spot to end the day with close to 60 fish between us. Great day of fishing, but the water needed to be in the 200cfs range to comfortably wade.
