Decided to try the South Platte River for the day after hearing it was going to be in the 80's. I ended up fishing two different areas pretty low in the canyon. The water was clear and still pretty low, allowing me to wade across most areas. The first area produced no fish or action of any kind so I moved on fairly quick. Spot number two ended up being a much better choice. I end up with two fish but have another three on and a couple of sniffs. I catch a 14" rainbow and a 12" brown on the red Amy's Ant. I call it a day around 2pm and head home. Great day in the mountains!
