Day 62

Merry Christmas!  Today Derron and I tried a new spot on the South Platte, just below Chatfield Reservoir.  It was a beautiful sunny day with no wind but still had a lot of snow on the ground.  We didn't see any bug hatches and mostly tried nymphing.  I had zero action all day and Derron was the same, although he said he saw a couple of top water hits.  After a few hours we called it a day with no fish caught.  On a side note my new cabelas wader bag works awesome.

Rod:  Iwana 12'
Line:  Traditional Tenkara 10 1/2'
Flies that worked:  None

  1. Did you fish the river below or above 470? there are a few good spots that hold some nice fish between 470 and south glenn. I think jason will be venturing out there this week.
