Colorado River

Decided to fish some new water to finish off the trip and headed to the upper Colorado River.  I started at the Colorado River Trailhead in R.M.N.P. and fished my way upstream over the next seven hours.  I start the day with an Amy's Ant but quickly switch to something smaller.  I land on a caddis and never take it off.  I cast to every bit of water that might hold a fish and end up catching a fish in three of four holes and multiple fish out of deeper pockets.  By the time I have finished I have caught 100 fish for only the second time in my life.  I walk straight back to the trail which follows the creek and head back to the car.  Much to my surprise I am only fifteen minutes walk on the trail from where I started(took seven hours to fish same stretch).  I get back to the car only to see a couple of elk and deer hanging around to finish off a great day in style.

  1. Simply stunning! Beautiful country, beautiful waters and brilliant camera work. I certainly can see why it would take (7) hours to take in the wonder of where you were and what you were experiencing.
