R.M.N.P.

Mark and I went up to Rocky Mountain N.P. for the day to see if the fishing had turned on yet.  We start the day at the Wild Basin area and fish the North St Vrain.  Mark picks up a couple but I can't get anything.  We decide to try cub creek and start walking back to the car, when we come across a pond.  I cast out into it and get a good size brookie to take the Amy's Ant.  So after a slow start we hoped the change in venue would help with the action.
We get to Cub Creek and the water is at a great level and crystal clear.  Unfortunately the wind is blowing pretty good making good casts a challenge.  Despite this we both have better luck in the action department.  Neither of us our catching very many fish but we are both getting bites at this point.  Mark picks up five more, including a nice size brown, while I pick up eight little brookies.  We call it a day around 6pm and head back to the car with a great day in the books!

  2. Enjoyed reading of your time on the water, and as usual, benefit from the great pictures. Cub Creek may get one more angler if I have anything to say about it..............
