Day 77

Wanted to try a new spot today, and Derron and I decided to go to R.M.N.P. and try a couple of new spots.  We settled on Fall River to start, fishing from the alluviel fan waterfall downstream.  The weather was warm but a little breezy and overcast most of the day.

Before we started the day we stopped in the local fly shop to get a little info and some flies.  The advice was to use a pink san juan worm and a nymph.  We both took the advice and tied on a pink worm for the day.  Not ten minutes into fishing I have landed my first fish, a little brook trout on the worm.  We continue to fish this area for a few hours with Derron catching a couple of fish late while I had pretty good action all day and netted another three before we decide to move.

Next we try Glacier Creek by Sprague Lake for a change of pace.  Derron has fished here before but this was a new area for me.  The creek is pretty tight in most areas with trees and bushes everywhere.  There were plenty of spots to fish though and the creek opened up in spots to make it easier to cast.  I pull out three more fish while Derron pulls out two more before we call it a day.

Another great day of fishing with my bro, and found some new areas to try in the summer.
