Day 83

Spent the afternoon up at Bear Creek today doing a little solo fishing.  Weather was great with almost no wind and the flows a little down from last time.  I started at my new favorite spot and went with the ant that was still tied on from last time.  After trying the lower run with only a couple sniffs I move up to the log and start casting through the run.  I see a good size brown rise so I keep at it until I hook it.  I didn't bring a net and as I hand line it in, it snaps the fly off.  Oh well, I land another brown within five minutes just 3 feet downstream from the other.  I try the lower run again but this time with a bwo and success, I land another little brown.

As I am finishing up at this spot I run into Karel Lansky finally.  We shoot the shit for a little while beforre I move downstream to a new spot.  At this point I am on a elk hair caddis and have caught couple more browns along the way.  Although only four caught to this point, I had hooked another six fish but failed to land them.

I run into Karel again and fish a hole with him.  I had seen a couple fish rise in different spots and watched as Karel pinpointed a few casts and pulled the fly out to soon as a little one jumped for it.  I hook another but it gets right off before we part ways and I head up to the old favorite spot.

I know there are fish in a few different spots and it takes some persistence on my part but I finally get one to finish the day off right.  Five fish caught with another half dozen or so hooked in about 3 1/2 hours of fishing.
