Blue River

The plan was to fish the Blue River and do some camping that night and fish the next day.  We start the day in a blizzard, but have the river to ourselves.  After the first section we try skunks us we decide to try another.  Second section has three guys fishing one hole but pulling fish out one after another.  We fish a couple holes below them with no luck before we move upstream of them and find a hole where the fish are stacked up.  The rest of the day was pulling a fish(15" average) every other cast.  Both Mark and I at one point switched flies every time we caught a fish and still caught fish at the same rate.  One note of the day was my Iwana rod handle broke on a 15" fish but still managed to land it with the remaining sections.  I finished the day off using the Yamame which held up beautifully.  We call it after we both have twenty plus fish for the day and head to camp.  Great day!
