Cache La Poudre River

Headed up to the Poudre River for the day with Mark.  We get to river around noon and start at our normal spot.  The water is low and clear and the weather is just about perfect.  Mark has a green pmx on and I got a green amy's ant to begin the day.  Mark catches a fish inside a minute and I assume the fishing will be on.  Sadly the first part of the day is very slow and we only pick up seven in the first section.  We continue upstream to the car and pick up another seven between us.

Spot number two is another old favorite.  We split up again and fish opposite sides of the river.  We are both into fish pretty consistently on this section but all the fish are 6 or 7 inches.  That being said we each catch twenty or so at this spot before moving on.

We finish the day at a new spot that looks promising.  Mark has better luck than I do at this spot, catching 5 fish while I got skunked.  The area had plenty of good holes but the fish just would not take the dries.  We call it a day around 6pm and head home.  Great day in the canyon!
