South Platte River

Headed back to the South Platte for a few hours in the morning before the heat of the day set in.  I tie on a Amy's Ant followed by a caddis nymph and start working my way upstream.  I get a couple in the side pools but nothing in the main pool to start but as the day goes on the action picks up.  The action is split between the amy's ant and the nymph and by the time I finish I have caught 11 including 3 really nice rainbows(big one was 17").  I only fish for about 3 hours at the one spot and call it a day around 11:30am.  Pretty good day of fishing!
