Day 55

Went up to RMNP with Derron to do a little fishing and picture taking on a typical day in the mountains.  We started the day fishing Moraine Park before the winds really kicked up.  I was using a Amy's Ant and caught four browns in the first half hour with two around 11" and two around 8" but then it slowed down once the clouds came over.  Derron pulled out four in the first hour, but then went through the same dry spell.  We both caught one on the walk back to the car before the rains came.  We decided to try Glacier Gorge to see if it was a little more protected from the winds but as we drove up the weather changed into a snow storm.  We fished for about a half hour before we call it and head back down to Moraine Park.  I ask Derron to stop at the parking lot at Moraine Park just to take a little break and fish for a few minutes since the weather cleared over the meadow.  I walk down to the creek in front of the parking lot and using a elk hair caddis I cast out and land my sixth fish on my first cast. With the winds picking up we decide to take some pictures before we head home.
