Another day on the Poudre River

Fiftieth day of the year fishing and Mark and I decided to head back up to the Poudre to have another a good day of fishing on dries.  Our first stop is in the wild trout section just below the meadows.  We use one of the pullouts and Mark works downstream while I work upstream.

Both of us are into fish quickly, Mark using his red amy's ant while all my fish are coming on the green.  With ten fish between us we decide to try another spot way upstream on the upper section of the wild trout waters.  Once again we both catch some fish but the bite seemed to have slowed down a little.

We decide to head downstream and try a spot just above the meadows.  For all the luck we had below the meadows this upper section was not as good and gave up no fish.  To finish the day we head back to Mark's favorite spot.  Just as before we both end the day with fish from this spot to finish the day off right.

In the day we skipped fishing the Poudre they had a slow moving rainstorm that caused a few mudslides to come down across the highway but cleared it up within hours.  The river was mud below the burn area but cleared up as soon as you got above it.  Second good day on the Poudre fishing dries with a buddy!
