Back to Bear Creek
Headed up to Bear Creek for the second day in a row to see if I figure out what the fish would take. I start the day at the same place and basically retrace my steps from the day before, with the addition of a few spots downstream of the ponds.
I start the day tying on a small BWO and once again get a fish hooked early. I continue downstream trying a number of different patterns from midges to BWO's to Parachute Adams and have a little better luck than yesterday, but still not as much action as would have liked. I have caught a few fish by the time I get to the old ponds area and can see the fish feeding on the surface again. I tie on a small BWO and start casting through the runs. After a number of close strikes I finally get a couple fish to take the fly and finish off the day catching a few more before I head a little farther downstream. I find a nice couple of pools to finish off the day and start casting through them. Much to my surprise I land a little rainbow on a midge emerger to finish the day off right.
At about 6:30pm I decide to call it a day and head back to the car with just under a dozen fish caught for the day with all but the last caught on dries. Glad to see the creek fishing good again after the flood.
