South Platte River

With the forecast for heavy winds for the day we decide to stay close and head down to the South Platte.  Mark ties on a nymphing rig while I try some dries to start.  We start at the confluence with the North Fork but don't get anything even after try another section of the North Fork further up.  We pick up and head back to the main river and find an open spot to fish.  I manage one brown while Mark gets three.  After a break we drive to another spot to finish the day.  It starts out slow for both of us but we finish at a hole that has multible fish feeding on the surface for about two hours.  I get a couple including a nice 16" rainbow while Mark cleans up with another seven.  Pretty good day on the water despite the heavy winds.
