A few hours on Bear Creek

Had the day off and decided to try Bear Creek on a rainy day.  With the rains coming and going but the wind down I headed up around 1pm to give it a shot.  I start at the normal spot and  still have the humpy tied on from last time.

I cast along the edge below a waterfall and get a bite but it comes off almost instantly.  I move to the pools and start casting through.  As I am pulling the fly up I see a fish move for it but can't stop myself quick enough to let the fish eat it.  I cast through a few more times with no luck or action before I tie on a Red San Juan Worm and almost immediately get two bites before I finally get my first fish minutes later.

I head downstream stopping at a number of my favorite spots with only marginal luck.  I land a couple more before the rains start up.  I am fishing through the rain until it turns into hail and I find some cover.  The rains stop and I catch one more before it starts raining again and I decide to call it a day around 4:30pm.

Not a great day of weather but still nice to get out and do some fishing.

    1. No Problem, at least I had the creek more or less to myself.
